Really does the job!

This is such a great tool. Had quite a bit of construction done, zoomed around with this little gem and picked up so many nails and screws that otherwise would have ended up in someone's tire.

Good for a shop not great for outdoors

It's magnetic but it's not super magnetic. It'll pick things up but it won't pick up everything. If you're just pushing it around your shop or what not it'll be fine. but outdoors where there's rocks and grooves and stuff like that for things to hide it works just okay.

You are correct in that the Mini Sweeper is most effective when rolled over a smooth, flat surface such as a garage or driveway. It can be used on uneven terrain, but multiple passes may be necessary to attract all the scrap and debris.

Does the job well to pick up junk

After having a new home built and seeing that there were hundreds of nails, screws, staples and various wire types surrounding the finished house I bought this to pick them up. The magnet surface is strong, will pick up any loose metal and holds it tightly as the device rolls over bumpy ground. The nails do not fall off if scraped against the ground/rocks but will just be pushed along the magnet surface. If nails/screws are partially buried with dirt settled by rain the magnet may not pull them out of the ground so it helps to pull a rake over the area to break up the dirt or unearth fully buried metal objects. Feels very light but works well.

It picks up well but did not last more than a few months

It broke from the screw that holds it to the part that rolls - so it's useless - very sad - worked good - then poof!

Turned out to be more useful than I thought

We had our roof replaced this year and the roofers left nails EVERYWHERE! I have 2 young children, so there was no way I was going to take any chances trying to pick them all up by hand. I have a small yard and didn't want something huge taking up space in my garage, so I decided on this one. The first time I used it I was amazed at how many metal objects were in my yard. In addition to the 30-40 roofing nails I found old rusty nails and screws, a thumb tack, and various other sharp metal pieces floating around in the grass where my kids play. I have also used it to pick up metal shavings and nails in the garage after projects. I also sew so I'm sure it will come in handy when I loose a pin or two in the carpet. I am happy with the size, and it seems plenty sturdy for basic home use.
